How do I convert a PDF to PowerPoint?
Drop the PDF into the box above, pick exact pages or editable text, and click “Convert to PowerPoint”. You get a PPTX file with one slide for each page, in the original order. Open it in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides, and present it or build on it. Your original PDF stays untouched.
This is the opposite of PPT to PDF. A PDF is a finished document, so the goal here is not to rebuild the deck someone made, but to give you a deck you can use right now.
Tip: Hand-outs and posters look best in the default exact mode. Use editable text only for pages where you truly need to change a word.
What is the difference between exact pages and editable text?
You choose between two approaches, and each has a clear place.
- Exact pages (default). Each page is placed on its slide as a sharp picture. The result looks identical to the PDF, including special fonts, logos, tables and charts. You cannot edit the words, but you can move, crop and resize the picture, add your own text boxes on top, and reorder slides.
- Editable text (Beta). The tool tries to rebuild text as real text boxes so you can edit it directly. PDFs do not store paragraphs the way a presentation does, so line breaks, spacing and fonts may differ. Treat the result as a head start and check each slide.
If you are unsure, begin with exact pages. It is the more reliable choice, and you can always cover a word with a text box.
When is PDF to PowerPoint useful?
A few situations come up again and again.
- A report you need to present. Turn the pages into slides and walk your team through them without opening a PDF viewer.
- Reusing one chart or page. Convert, then copy the slide you want into a deck you already have.
- A lecture handout. Students receive a PDF, and you want to project it with notes of your own.
- A design or poster review. Each page fills a slide at full sharpness, so you can compare versions side by side.
- A proposal that arrived as a PDF. Add your comments as text boxes on the slides.
For large files, remember that exact pages are images, so a long PDF gives a large PPTX. Extract only the pages you need to keep it light.
Is it safe to convert a PDF to PowerPoint online?
Yes. You open the tool online, but the conversion happens on your own phone or computer. The browser draws each page, assembles the slides and gives you the file, and at no point is the PDF sent to a server. That suits unreleased plans, client proposals and internal reports.
You can check it yourself by watching your browser’s network tab during a conversion. No file data leaves your device. There is no installation, no account and no limit, and after the first use the tool works offline too.
